  • The Managing Director of India is responsible for setting strategic and production goals for the business, as well as providing leadership and direction to the team
  • In addition, the incumbent actively monitors and oversees the daily business activities, supports the talent management process and ensures the business observes the company's policy and risk requirements

  • Develops and ensures achievement of strategic business and financial plans for the Indian Office consistent with the Group's business and financial goals
  • Provides senior strategic leadership and maximizes operational efficiency of the business
  • Operates as part of the branch management committee providing input on the strategic framework for the overall business
  • Leads Client Acceptance Committee in performing client due diligence review prior to on boarding new clients while ensuring management of compliance and financial risk
  • Provides direction and leads development of client solution on operational issues with a balanced approach by weighing in technical requirements and commercial flexibility
  • Ensures that the production office has adequate technology platforms and capabilities
  • Proactively identifies, develops, motivates and retains talent
  • Builds and manages a production team that comprises of Legal & Corporate Secretariat; Accounting; Tax and Account Managers, to provide service proficiently and profitability for the branch
  • Review and set competitive pricing for professional services provided by Domiciliary Office for new and existing engagement
  • Continuously looks for expansion of existing client portfolio and business development opportunity
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to business policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Works effectively within the company's corporate governance practices and policies to ensure that all potential risks are appropriately addressed and that the company's legal/reputational issues are covered
  • Keeps up to date with market trends and topical regulatory requirements

    Cross-Functional Relationships:

  • Build strong partnership within the company's network for a healthy business pipeline
  • Partner with the Sales Office for productive client relationship management
  • Work collaboratively with group functions eg- Legal and Compliance, Human Resources, IT, Finance and Marketing for functional capabilities

    Compliance Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • As an employee of the company, the incumbent must comply with all applicable Group business policies, guidelines, controls and code of conduct
  • As the manager of people, this job must ensure all employees within the business unit comply with all applicable Group business policies, standards, guidelines and control requirements

    Authorities/Decision Rights:

  • Provide leadership to the Indian Office production team, ensuring positive management direction in terms of common standards and skill sets within the group

    Job Dimensions:

  • Number of direct/indirect reports: approximately 40 full-time employees

  • Relevant university degree required with a 15+ of experience in a financial services industry and business management function including the following
  • Minimum 6 years of people management experience with proven track record
  • Minimum of 1o years experience working in multiple discipline such as corporate secretarial with Corporate Service Provider; statutory audits or corporate income tax and compliance with accounting firms
  • Expose to cross border structuring and implementation of multi-jurisdictional structures for private and corporate clients in managing financial transactions
  • Highly developed people management and team building skills
